Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc. will relocate its North American animal health headquarters from St. Joseph to Duluth, Georgia, as part of its integration with Sanofi’s animal health business.
The company announced Tuesday that its U.S. animal health leadership team will be based at the existing site of Sanofi’s Merial facility in Duluth, a suburb of Atlanta.
Despite the move, a vast majority of Boehringer employees will be unaffected, said Melissa Chestnut, a senior specialist of public relations and internal relations with Boehringer.
“Right now, we estimate up to 75 job opportunities will be created at the Duluth site,” she said. “Those (positions) could be filled by anyone from anywhere. It is too early to tell how many employees this will impact here in St. Joseph.”
